What we collect
- Nothing when you browse. The site has no accounts, no sign-up forms, no advertising trackers and, at the moment, no analytics or tracking cookies. Fonts are served from our own site, not from third parties.
- What you choose to email us. Contact and the "suggest a tool" form both open your own email program. Nothing is sent until you press send. We receive your email address and whatever you write.
- Server logs. Our host (Cloudflare) processes basic technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. We don't use it to identify visitors.
How we use it
We use emails only to reply to you and to improve the site (for example, adding a suggested tool or fixing a price). We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't add you to a mailing list.
Calculators
Calculators on this site run entirely in your browser. Numbers you type aren't sent to us or stored.
Links to other sites and affiliate cookies
When you click through to a vendor (via a /go/ link), you leave our site. If that link becomes an affiliate link, the vendor or affiliate network may set a cookie on their site to credit us for a referral. Their privacy policies apply there.
If this changes
If we add analytics or a newsletter later, we'll update this page first, say what's collected and why, and choose privacy-respecting options where we can.
Where data is stored
Our email and hosting providers may store data outside Canada (for example in the United States), where it may be subject to the laws of that country.
Your rights
Under Canada's PIPEDA and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act, you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected]. We'll respond within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
